In 2017 and 2018, we launched three sounding rockets to test the viability of the Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover parachute that will enable the rover’s safe landing on the red planet. Each flight introduced more stress on the parachute, and during the third flight, the parachute deployed at nearly twice the speed of sound. These flights were key to certifying the parachute for flight at Mars. We’re proud to have provided this support and we’re looking forward to Perseverance’s launch this Thursday
