Meet Charlie the rescue Maremma. He survived the bushfires in Bunyip North in Victoria's east, refusing to leave a flock of ducks he was protecting. His owner Rex lost his home and said Charlie was waiting at the front gate when he got back. “They [Maremmas] are just grouse dogs,” he said. Rex said he took Charlie in a year ago after he was left unwanted in an animal shelter.
