This day 06th Feb, That year 1897 The train bringing Swami Vivekananda reached the Egmore Railway Station in Madras, at about 7.30 a.m. The Swami was given an ethusiastic welcome that was unprecedented in the history of Madras. Accompanied by the Hon. Mr. Justice Subrahmanya Iyer and his Gurubhais, Swamiji was driven to Castle Kernan, the residence of Mr. Biligiri Iyengar, where he was to reside during his stay in Madras.
