Robinson Helicopter Company earned FAA approval for a new R44 aircraft empennage design, following a successful design approval for the R66 Turbine in September 2023. The new symmetric horizontal stabilizer and tailcone are now standard in newly manufactured R44 helicopters registered with the FAA. A retrofit kit (KI-285-2) is available for field installations.
