Today we remember Apollo 1 astronauts Virgil "Gus" Grissom, Edward White, and Roger Chaffee, who perished in one of the first tragedies of the space age. In 2022, a monument to these pioneers was placed in Section 3 of Arlington National Cemetery, and dedicated in a ceremony attended by NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration officials and family members of the fallen astronauts. It is located near the graves of Grissom and Chaffee. Inscribed on the monument is "Ad Astra Per Aspera,
