The Philadelphia Phillies are predicted to lose star pitcher Ranger Suarez to the Los Angeles Dodgers in a potential trade.
Suarez broke out as a bona fide ace with the Phillies in an All-Star season last year that saw him post a 3.46 ERA with 145 total strikeouts. Though he has struggled with injuries throughout his career and missed the beginning of this season, he has a 1.99 ERA in 12 starts so far.
The Phillies don’t want to take any chances with Suárez (7-2, 1.99 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, 73 K, 19 BB, 77 IP). He started the season on the IL for five weeks because of his back, and he has an intermittent history of back issues and other ailments.
