Evacuations are still underway for people in Montrose because of a wildfire burning in Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park.

Officials have set a goal date for containment of the nearly 4,000-acre and, so far, 0% contained South Rim Fire that has been burning in Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park for days.

Firefighters continue to battle several wildfires raging on the Western Slope. The Turner Gulch fire nearly doubled in size overnight to about 14,000 acres with zero percent containment. The fire continues to spread in Unaweep Canyon and evacuations are in place along Highway 141.
