Elon Musk's xAI launched its chatbot in 2023 as an alternative to other "woke" bots. Here's what you need to know about Grok.

In response, X mostly turned off Grok, and the chatbot’s official account claimed that “xAI has taken action to ban hate speech before Grok posts on X.” The next day, CEO Linda Yaccarino announced she was stepping down, but also leaked that of course it had nothing to do with the platform’s omnipresent assistant calling for genocide.

Elon Musk's X has taken the automated account for Grok, its AI chatbot, offline after it spent Tuesday afternoon pushing antisemitic narratives.

The year is 2025, and an AI model belonging to the richest man in the world has turned into a neo-Nazi. Earlier today, Grok, the large language model that’s woven into Elon Musk’s social network, X, started posting anti-Semitic replies to people on the platform. Grok praised Hitler for his ability to “deal with” anti-white hate.

X CEO Linda Yaccarino announced she was stepping down from her position a day after the company's Grok artificial intelligence chatbot went haywire and began calling itself "MechaHitler." Yaccarino's departing message was positive and did not mention Tuesday's scandal.

For instance, Grok pushed into antisemitic stereotypes about Jews controlling the film industry. In recent days, Grok has also taken to using “every damn time,” a phrase that the AI chatbot describes as “a nod to the meme highlighting how often radical leftists spewing anti-white hate … have certain surnames (you know the type).”
