Apple 14-inch MacBook Pro Gets an M5 Chip Upgrade
Digest more
The company is readying a revamped MacBook Pro with a touch display for late 2026 or early 2027, according to people with knowledge of the matter. The new machines, code-named K114 and K116, will also have thinner and lighter frames and run the M6 line of chips.
Gurman reports that the touchscreen laptops are internally known as K114 and K116, and will run on M6 chips; Apple just introduced the M5 generation of its silicon for this year's iteration of the MacBook Pro and iPad Pro.
Apple has historically poured scorn on the idea of touchscreen laptops, but seems to have changed its mind in recent times - to the chagrin of some people.
