ABC News’ Reena Roy reports on the booming box office as audiences flock into theaters with a summer roster of sequels, reboots and classic favorites getting a modern twist.
Also, it’s another great start for the summer box office, the second $100M+ opening after Lilo & Stitch ‘s $146M. Superman cost before P&A $225M net. Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel opened to $116.6M back in 2013, unadjusted for inflation.
Although the figures don't come from Warner Bros themselves, if confirmed then Superman stands to be the second-best opening for a Superman movie overall, coming in behind 2016's Batman v. Superman which grossed $166 million.
James Gunn's Superman, starring David Corenswet, released on Friday. It is available in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu in India.
