Bill Gates abruptly backed out of giving the keynote address at a major AI summit in India on Thursday, in the wake of recently released emails shedding light on his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.

Speaking at the AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman lauded India’s leadership in AI, calling it the world’s fastest-growing and most influential AI market.

New Delhi: Amid the India AI summit, which is currently happening in New Delhi, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Altman also called India "fastest growing market for Codex globally."
