IAN Alerts are one of two new alerts that were passed into law in Kentucky in 2024. It uses the same system as an Amber Alert, but is meant to notify everyone of a child with autism or other special needs when they've gone missing and might be in danger, according to a spokesperson for the Team Kentucky Justice and Public Safety Cabinet .

The child was reported missing in Cub Run, Kentucky Tuesday morning, but was found about 30 minutes after the alert was issued.

Kentucky State Police have issued an Ian Alert for a missing juvenile. According to KSP, the child is missing out of Cub Run, Kentucky and may be in danger. An Ian Alert is designed to help save the lives of children with autism. The alert will cover gaps between other alerts and uses the same system as the Amber Alert.
