Months after Foxconn has now directed its recruiting agents to align their advertisements without specifications of gender and such in India

Apple iPhone supplier Foxconn has reportedly told its various recruitment partners to cease putting conditions about marital status and other issues in job ads for the company.

The Apple supplier has ordered hiring agents that help recruit iPhone assembly workers in India to remove age, gender and marital criteria as well as the manufacturer's name in job advertisements.

Foxconn's Indian recruiters previously allowed only unmarried women of a specific age to be eligible for the iPhone manufacturing plant. This requirement has now been removed following investigations.

Apple iPhone maker Foxconn reportedly ordered its Indian hiring vendors to remove certain job criteria such as age, gender, and marital status from the advertisement. The company did not comment on whether or not it had ended restrictions on employment norms.

Foxconn, which employs thousands of women at the iPhone factory at Sriperumbudur, near Chennai, has outsourced recruitment of assembly-line workers to third-party vendors.
