The first brutal day of reckoning in the Hautes-Pyrénées has ended with Ben Healy losing his leader’s yellow jersey in the Tour de France by just over 13 minutes.

Tadej Pogacar has said he hopes Ben Healy “feels tired” ahead of the duo’s upcoming battle over the yellow jersey, after the EF Education-EasyPost rider became the first Irishman in 38 years to wear the maillot jaune.

Healy’s gritty ride in the race’s first mountainous stage gives him the overall lead while Simon Yates earns the stage 10 victory.
