The Artemis 2 human lunar mission around the moon could be back on track after NASA pulled off a successful fueling test of the SLS rocket.
NASA's second attempt to run a "wet test" of the Space Launch System (SLS) for its Artemis II mission was successful. Following a failure of some seals during the first attempt earlier this month, NASA pushed the launch back to March to conduct additional tests.
During the first wet dress rehearsal on Monday, Feb. 2, teams uncovered a liquid hydrogen leak in an interface that is used to route the fuel into the SLS’s core stage. In fact, that was the same portion where a liquid hydrogen leak was found during the Artemis I mission back in 2022.
