A world hurricane committee voted to retire Melissa as a hurricane name, and chose Molly as the replacement in 2031.

Almost no one will be sad to see the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season end on Nov. 30. It was remarkable because it was what could be considered a “slower” season, with fewer storms than recent years.
