The 2025 Atlantic hurricane season, which is expected to be more active than usual, has so far produced three named storms. The latest, Tropical Storm Chantal, impacted the Carolinas and the mid-Atlantic states of Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

The National Hurricane Center is monitoring an area of low pressure located east of Florida. It is forecast to move westward across Florida tonight and into the northeastern Gulf of Mexico by late Tuesday.

A broad area of weakly spinning low pressure could slowly consolidate and develop into a tropical storm along the southeastern coast of the United States into next week, AccuWeather meteorologists say.
