The poor air quality that has blanketed swaths of central and Western Canada is not only infiltrating the lungs, but also distressing the mind.

Windsor-Essex, Chatham-Kent and Sarnia-Lambton can all expect elevated air pollution levels again Tuesday. Environment and Climate Change Canada has once again issued a special weather statement for the region. This time, the weather office says weather conditions are expected to cause increasing levels of ozone.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Dry and warm weather will peak Tuesday in Northeast Ohio, ahead of rain and thunderstorm chances midweek. Weak high pressure from the north will translate to sunny skies and high temperatures pushing into the upper 80s — the warmest of the week.

Wildfire season is upon us, and smoke is reducing air quality through swaths of the country. Environment Canada suggests people check the Air Quality Health Index daily to determine how much time to spend outside.

The heat warning issued last Friday for the Ottawa-Gatineau region should last until Thursday night, according to Environment Canada. Special air quality statements issued by the agency on Monday also linger Tuesday.
