NVMe (Non-Volatile Memory Express) is a protocol for highly parallel data transfer with reduced system overheads per input/output (I/O) that is used in flash storage systems and solid-state drives (SSDs).
While the terms SSD and NVMe are used to describe two types of drives, they are actually different data storage technologies that can complement each other.
NVMe is the latest high performance and optimized protocol which supersedes AHCI and compliments PCIe technology. It offers an optimised command and completion path for use with NVMe based storage.
Aunque los términos M.2 y NVMe suelen utilizarse indistintamente, en realidad se refieren a tecnologías diferentes que pueden utilizarse juntas o por separado.
